How might we create opportunities for food/drinks street vendors to do businesses from the topic of business and justice relationship?
Executive Summary
This report was written to examine how might we create opportunities for food/drinks street vendors to do businesses from the topic of business and justice relationship. The research draws attention to the fact that in 2016, the street food in Thailand was ranked 23rd of all the street food around the world by CNN. The size of the this market is more than one hundred thousand street food stalls in Thailand. Street food stall is a low-cost investment, easy to sell. However, the street or footpath, the place that street vendors usually sell and cook are illegal and dangerous. Consequently, many street vendors told to evict. After interviewing some street vendors, we noticed that most of them shared the same pain point which is the selling area. From the insights of Ms.Nart, kanomjeeb stall seller in front of Samyan Mitrtown, she have been selling kanomjeeb everyday for years and almost all of the income is for the house rental payment. Fortunately, all of her 3 kids have stable job and gain income to cover the daily expenses of her family. However, she needs to be aware of municipal officers due to the unstable selling place. After the brain-storming process, our group come up with a lot of ideas to solve this problem and choose the best 3 ideas which are the CU food truck, CU Food vendors card and reserve application, and Renting fee for street vendor discount.
