ENVIRONMENT

This module opens up a discussion on hot topics like environment, climate change, and green efforts. Global warming has been a topic of discussions for decades, but we can’t seem to keep us with the deterioration of the environment. The students are encouraged to think about the actions they can take, individually and collectively, and as future innovators, the leverage on innovations and technology they can take to save the environment. Additionally, they will look at environmental problems from a justice perspective, such as the unequal impact that vulnerable groups bear.

GUIDING QUESTIONS

  • Can we really safe the world from global warming?

DESIGN BRIEFS AND CURRENT PROJECTS

Problem Statement

  • How might we make School of Integrated Innovation go zero waste by the year 2023?
  • How can we implement zero waste in Chula (SII)?
  • How might we create a culture of resources mindfulness around the chula campus to support existing waste management initiatives?
  • How might we foster a habit of waste-mindfulness for people in Chula campus?

Challenge Briefs

  • People have known and been talking about waste management, to separate recycle waste, non recycle, and so on. However, in real life, we often see people not disposing waste in accordance with the designated garbage. How can we help motivating people to follow through effectively with the waste management system, particularly in Chulalongkorn/ SII?
  • Look around us, plastic bottles, plastic cups, plastic bags and other plastic materials are still easily visible.
