MySis Bot, Thailand

MySis was established by a policewoman who recognized that there were many barriers that prevent gender-based violence survivors from obtaining appropriate treatment, rehabilitation, and justice. Some of male policemen lack sensitivity and understanding in dealing with women who had experienced violence. Additionally, Thai cultural value in upholding family units obstructed women from leaving the perpetrators, for the sake of being a family. 

House on Facebook Messenger, MySis is available 24/7 to provide help to survivors without prejudice. Using survival-based apporach, MySis gives advice to the survivors on steps to take when encountering violence, their legal rights, and resources to contact, or even simply just listen to their stories. 

Housed on Facebook Messenger, MySis is a chatbot that gives advice to the survivors, listens to their stories, and if they want to, helps them file a police report.
